Cutaway Mini Martin 000 with Fishman Electronics

From the stage to the beach, the Martin 000CJr-10E acoustic-electric is an on-the-go picker's dream come true. This comfortable mini delivers iconic Martin 000 visuals and sonics in a smaller form factor — one that's not only great to travel with, but easy to learn on as well. The X-braced spruce top on sapele back and sides blooms to life with warmth and depth at every pick stroke. Notes ring out with harmonic richness and bell-like clarity that belie the 000CJr-10E's reduced size. Onboard Fishman Sonitone electronics equip this capable acoustic-electric for everything from plug-and-play pickup gigs to full-band stage performances.

Select tonewoods

Guitarists at Sweetwater know there's no substitute for top-quality tonewoods. That's a major reason this Martin 000CJr-10E is such a value: it uses solid tonewoods not typically found on guitars in this price range. Its X-braced top is built from solid spruce, a choice wood for musical depth and dynamics. Its back and sides are made from sapele, a wood similar to mahogany in terms of richness and depth. All told, it's a recipe for vibrant tone that will age gracefully as the years go by.

Comfortable mini auditorium body style

The clarity and depth of the Martin 000CJr-10E come from its comfortably reduced 000 Junior-14 Fret Cutaway body. The mini auditorium body style provides excellent projection and focus and is conveniently sized for students, travelers, or any player who wants Martin quality in a compact package. The 000CJr-10E also delivers a focused tone that's tailor-made for mixing projects and ensemble integration.

Easy-playing hardwood neck

The 000CJr-10E's select hardwood neck with hand-rubbed finish features Martin's High-Performance Taper profile — the same profile found on its top-of-the-line guitars. This gives the 000CJr-10E effortless playability that will inspire self-starters and longtime players alike.

Fishman Sonitone electronics

A preinstalled Fishman Sonitone pickup system gives your Martin 000CJr-10E great plugged-in tone. Whether you're playing live or recording at home, you'll love how the Fishman Sonitone picks up every nuance of your performance. Its soundhole-mounted controls make changing the volume on the fly a breeze.

  • Comfortably reduced Martin 000 Junior-14 Fret Cutaway body size

The Modern 018

Been strummin & hummin for 60 years over 50 guitars I've owned and enjoyed over the years for various lengths of time. Multiples of Martin, Gibson, Guild, Ovation, Santa Cruz, Yamaha, Takamine, no Taylor on purpose. Handmade and even a couple of Bavaria Framus models.
My longest serving guitar for 40 years has been my 1947 Martin 018. Love it so much except for 1 11/16 nut. As I aged I just wanted a bit more at nut and a few modern features. Lots of good guitars now even the new 018 with 1 3/4 nut. I recommend $2,400.
Then I found this absolute gem the new 000CJR10-E.
It has almost exact dimensions of the 018 body with 24" scale vs 24.9". It is simply wonderful. Fun and delightful to play with a sweet full sound. Comfortable clean and precise each note rings out with excellent sustain. Fast smooth neck, richlite fingerboard a positive and the cutaway opens everything up to you.
I love the thoughtful simplicity. To have a all solid Martin that allows such ease of play... is fantastic. Add good electronics and decent gig bag and a real value to be proud of. I even really like it came from the good folks at Martin Navojoa Mexico.
They have a lot of pride and skill and it shows.
Experiment with strings, the retros are fine.
I dressed mine up with a OM pickgaurd, Tusq bridgepins . If you want a Hardshell case a 3/4 will fit or a classic case will with a bit more room. Martin is Martin for a reason, the 000cjr shows why perfectly.

Travel guitar

For a smaller guitar the volume, tone , and sustain are quite good. Workmanship seems very good. This guitar is exactly what I was looking for. Needed something a bit smaller than a fury size to practice while traveling. I held back one star due to the gig bag and not USA made. Overall I would buy it again.

My Omission

In my review of this excellent guitar, I neglected to commend the salesperson Jack, who has overseen numerous sales for me; he's tops!

Very Pleased

I play parlor and smaller-size guitars, and I wanted a cutaway for open tuning and slide, so this perfectly fit the bill. My primary instrument is a Taylor Mini-koa. The Martin is slightly larger, though, and "growing on me." The tone of the guitar has improved has improved with time, a deeper, richer tone than the Taylor, and the ease of playing the guitar because of its smaller size is close to parlors. The guitar is beautifully simple and simply beautiful. I would definitely buy it again.

Glad I went with the demo model - better than new!

I've only had it a couple of days, but I love this guitar! I'm glad I went with the demo model. I studied the photos of the guitar before purchasing, and I could not see the supposed dent marked on the front of the guitar. When I opened the box that's one of the first things I looked for - still could not see it. If I rub my fingers across the front of the guitar I can feel a very, very slight dent just above the bridge. Honestly, it would have taken me years to discover if it had not been noted by Sweetwater. The guitar seems brand new. And even better than seeming brand new, it feels broken in. I saved money on the demo and got a better than new guitar!
Music background: Casual strummer of worship and country songs
