Three Classic Amp Tones, Cabinet Simulation, and Much More

With the Walrus Audio Mako Series ACS1 amp and cab simulator pedal, you can ditch the amplifier and speaker cabinet while taking supreme control over your tone. It packs the sound and touch response of classic guitar amplifiers and their complementary cabinets, with direct output to inject your tone to your sound system or recording interface. When used in stereo mode, you can use the same amp model for both channels, or you can apply a different amp model to each channel. Complete with amp-like EQ and Gain controls, plus MIDI control for more advanced rigs, the Walrus Audio Mako Series ACS1 is a smart choice whenever — and wherever — you need to go direct with your guitar tone.

Three iconic amplifier models

With its three premium amplifier models, the Walrus Audio Mako Series ACS1 covers a wide tonal range. Choose Fullerton for the bright, clear sound of a vintage Fender tube amp. Select London for the rich, vivacious character of a 1962 Marshall Bluesbreaker. Or switch to the Dartford mode, which offers the sweet and jangly character of a '60s-era Vox AC30.

Six cab models to explore — or load your own

The Mako Series ACS1 comes with six detailed speaker cabinet IRs, designed to complement the amp models for maximum tonal flexibility. Also noteworthy is the Room control, which allows you to dial in just the right amount of simulated ambience. When it's fully counterclockwise, you'll hear zero room ambience; the fully clockwise position emulates a large, well-balanced studio space. And if you prefer using your own impulse responses, Sweetwater is pleased to report you'll be able to load your own IRs with the Walrus Audio app available at their website.

Customizable boost

Just like putting a boost pedal at the end of your pedal chain to hit your amplifier harder, the Walrus Audio Mako Series ACS1 features a switchable boost to take your tone over the top. And it's customizable, too — click the switch on and adjust the Volume and Gain controls to fine-tune exactly how much of a boost you need. Press the Boost switch again to save your preferred settings and return to normal operation.

User presets and advanced MIDI integration

Once you've dialed in a great guitar tone with the Mako Series ACS1, you can save it to one of three preset slots for instant recall. That's enough to make your own custom setting for each of the three amp models. And if you need more presets, you can access them via MIDI — you'll be able to save and recall up to 128 presets this way.

Walrus Audio Mako Series ACS1 Amp and Cab Simulator Pedal Features:

  • Modeled amp and speaker tones you can send direct to a mixing board or recording interface
  • 3 detailed amplifier models based on classic '60s tube amplifiers
  • 6 complementary speaker cabinet IRs, with controllable room ambience

Love the options sound and the easy knobs one of the best pedals that I own thanks Aaron Tremain to introduce me to walrus

Not Mac Compatable

The standard updates of this pedal must be done through only a windows machine and only google chrome; no other options. Very poor decision considering loads of musicians like myself use mac's to run our recording software and running updates. It is a hell of.a pedal that is made better using Celestion IR's according to Pete Thorn and other well watched on line reviewers. Sent company a email waiting for reply or this unit will be returned. Not investing in windows software or a win machine just for this pedal when my MacBook is three times the machine a win blows machine is...

Great pedal, worth the price

Before buying the pedal I'd watch many YouTube videos and was debating on getting the iridium vs the acs1. After second guessing myself multiple times I just pulled the trigger on the acs1. Man was I glad. This thing sounds killer. My only complaint about this unit is it requires a di.

After firmware update 2

I got the ACS1 from Sweetwater about a week after version 2 was released. I was ecstatic. I saw a rig doctor with the Vertex guy, and I like their pedal board and the buffers they make. And the power plug. I won't name names, but the Vertex guy's information and all around class fit well with Sweetwater. So on that show, and this is before the update, it was a comparison of two well liked amp cabinet simulator pedals. And when the other guys asked which my guy liked better. His demeanor was what I mean by class. "To me, the ACS1 sounds best. And..." OK have two amps in one pedal for a good price; an amp on each channel. From a mono input if I want. OK. I'm sold. And hats off to the others, it's personal taste. The other two on the show had their preferences and had the same authority as the Vertex guy. It's honest. So yes one on each channel, and it's a blend in the output. I'm not sure of that, and I don't care. This is for personal growth. And new gear. Like an interface, which is recommended. With the ACS1 I'm supplementing my Rivera Venus, and turning the volume off on one side leaves one sound seemingly overall. Where I split the feed coming from the effects loop with an EQ2, with both Rivera and ACS1 split into my Zoom H6. Also with cords bought from, Sweetwater. It helps me improve.

just what i needed

I can't say how this compares to the many other options on the market, but hey, it's a good pedal. I play regularly on stage and the sound I get out of the PA is so amp-like. That's what I'm going for, and that's what it does. I also can't express enough love for the boost function. Just a compact, well-designed pedal.
